Class Activities!

  • Hi boys and girls!

Hope you are enjoying your break from school as much as possible and not missing us teachers or Mr. O’ Leary too much 🙂

Although some of you might be worried about the virus which is keeping us out of school, just know that lots of amazing people are working on it and things will be back to normal before long!

But on the bright side, this break from school is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your families and to learn lots of new skills so I hope you are making the most of it, getting lots of fresh air and enjoying your time at home with your loved ones!

Mr. O’ Leary has asked me to provide work for you over the break as he wants you all to still be a part of one of the best classes in the school when you return. You will find it below. Other than that, I will hopefully see you all very soon and I am really missing the fun we had in the classroom 🙂

    Ms. Carroll

    Hi parents,

Hope the break is going ok for you all and that the children aren’t getting too much cabin fever by being kept largely indoors.

    For homework, if possible, could you please continue with the typical homework we had during the school term;

    Monday
Spellbound (next unit) A and B
    Mental Maths (next unit) Monday
Put words from Box 1 in Spellbound unit above into full sentences (7+ words).

    Tuesday
Spellbound (next unit) C and D
    Mental Maths (next unit) Tuesday
Put words from Box 2 in Spellbound unit above into full sentences (7+ words).

    Wednesday
Spellbound (next unit) E and F
    Mental Maths (next unit) Wednesday
Put words from Box 3 in Spellbound unit above into full sentences (7+ words).

    Thursday
Spellbound (next unit) G and H
    Mental Maths (next unit) Thursday
Put words from Box 4 in Spellbound unit above into full sentences (7+ words).

In addition to this, could you get the children to practice their spelling words from Spellbound as normal (Box 1 on Monday, Box 2 on Tuesday etc.) and have a spelling test with them on these words each Friday. We also normally have a Mental Maths test each Friday (you will find it in the last column of work from the week they have been working on for their homework), so you can also do this with them if it suits.

Unfortunately, I’m aware that the children don’t have their readers at home with them, so for reading homework, try to get them reading books appropriate to their level as much as possible.

Here are some links that might be useful in the coming weeks!

    Literacy Links

Finally, I am very aware that everyones home situation will be different so please, please do not feel under pressure to get this all done if it is not possible to do so. Stay safe and I will hopefully see you all very soon!
