Christmas County Champion!
Posted on 15th December 2014We are truly delighted in St. Kevin’s, as the Recycled Christmas Decoration Celebration Ceremony took place on Friday in the County Hall in Dun Laoghaire. The awarding of the trophy is the culmination of the annual competition in which all South Dublin primary schools select a recycled Christmas decoration champion. Each school champion is then invited to County Hall to participate in the Celebration Ceremony where they each receive a prize from the Cathaoirleach before the ‘County Champion’ is announced. And of course, we are delighted, as the ‘County Champion’ was none other than our super scholar in Fifth Class, Katelyn Bissett!
Speaking about the competition An Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Marie Baker said: “Every year the Council’s Christmas Tree is decorated with the most fabulous decorations. It is wonderful to see so much effort, artistic flair and imagination exhibited in all the decoration. The standard of decorations this year is exceptional and I’m sure the judge’s must have had a difficult job selecting an overall winner’. So all in St. Kevin’s are delighted that Katelyn was the pick of the bunch! RTÉ were on hand to capture the event for their News2Day programme which you can see if you click on the link below. Well done again to Katelyn, what a super scholar and amazing artist!!
